James Bond's car

The James Bond film series, a globally renowned film series, people are fascinated by the plot and the characters in the films. In addition to this, in the James Bond film series. His car, James Bond's signature ride, cannot be forgotten. Anyone who has seen Bond films knows that James Bond has a lot of high-tech weaponry, and Bond's car is one of the most impressive.

The first James Bond film, Dr Bond No, starring Sean Connery, had a budget of just £350,000 and did not feature much of a car chase, with Bond driving a Sunbeam (a venerable British car brand now owned by Peugeot) Alpine in a brief pursuit with a hearse; it is worth noting that the James Bond filmmakers complained in a letter to the Sunbeam car company that they could not find a car to use for free, so rented one from the local area for a hefty 12 shillings a day.

In 1963, the year after the release of Dr No, James Bond's second film, Russia in Love, was released. Although the second film did not feature many cars, the second film featured Daniela Bianchi, the most recognisable 'Bond girl' in the history of cinema, and word of mouth from these two films led to one of the most influential films in terms of its automotive elements, 007 Goldfinger.

In the film, Quartermaster Q's car for James Bond is an Aston Martin DB5, a 'bespoke' DB5 with bulletproof glass, a convertible number plate (the director's idea, as he had been ticketed) and a variety of weapons, including an ejectable passenger seat; the crew at the time went to Aston Martin to borrow a car, but the then-director was not willing and simply said we could sell you one. As for the price, the asking price was £4,500 and not a penny less. There were many cars on their shortlist at the time. Still, Aston Martin begrudgingly lent the crew a second-hand development car due to repeated requests from the producers. The special effects crew spent £25,000 on modifications to achieve the Aston Martin required for the production.
